I need your feedback.
Over the past few days, I decided that I really didn’t find the font I’ve been using very easy to read. In fact, I found the heavy looking letters made it feel heavy to get through them.
So I’ve decided to look for a friendlier font for the long posts that I tend to write.
Here’s one called Roboto that is at the top of many reviews, so let’s give it a try.
I’ll stick with this for a day or two and see what the reaction is. Let me know what you think. Or if you have a favorite font that you’ve seen elsewhere, send me your suggestion.
Hopefully I’ll stumble on one that pleases the eye and encourages you to continue reading!

No. No! We’ve been down this too light road before. Try Baskerville. Think would benefit by a serif font.
IMHO
Please check out the font on Bob Jones’ blog.
I set up the font on Bob Jones’ blog, https://www.bobjonesreport.com. The body font is Roboto by Google Fonts. I am using the Fonts Plugin | Google Fonts Typography plugin to enable that font. https://wordpress.org/plugins/olympus-google-fonts/

Ian, I personally don’t need any encouragement to read your blog. It’s your writing, and the cats of course, that bring me back. Nothing wrong with the old font. If you do change make sure it is large enough and bold enough for us older dudes to read.
I like the font you used in the Miske reporting recap. Easier to read
Keep the one you have been using – or if you want to change fonts, at least don’t make it as light as the one you tried this morning.
I have never understood why websites – especially newspaper websites – use lighter/darker fonts for what they post. Seems to me that the object is for readers to be able to READ what’s posted, and, for example, making a reporter byline lighter than her copy does not do a service to either the reader or the writer.
I have been using Calibri for some time.
But I will continue to read your posts even if you switch to Old English.
Just keep writing!
I had no issues with your usual font.
Bold is fine, but please use a serif font. It looks more like news.
I appreciate your reaching out to” your readers. In my opinion, I find that the font you currently use is not comfortable for reading a longer text. Others, here, have suggested fonts any of which I agree would be an improvement. Personally, I prefer a serif. A few I find easy on the eye when reading on the Internet are Century, Garamond, Baskerville — even good old Times New Roman. Please also consider the font size when you choose.
It’s all about personal preference. Some blogs and newspapers use serif fonts, some sans serif. There is no rhyme or reason, not even a rule of thumb these days. It would be fair to say that serif fonts tend to be perceived as more conservative or old fashioned – which is why they are often used by institutional types like attorneys. Sans serif is typically perceived as younger and ‘cleaner.’ The old trope that serif fonts are easier to read is fake news! It all depends on the individual font. Personally I much prefer sans serif and would urge you to stick with Roboto (but without the bolding) or Arial, Helvetica or a new one called Lato which is also very nice.
I prefer a serif font. They are easier to read. Also, one that is large enough and with enough contrast for those of us with “old” eyes.
Can you suggest a site you visit regularly that uses a serif font you like?
Try Calibri?
I work for a state agency and our official font is Segoe UI (size 12). They determined that it was best for several reasons, with accessibility being at the top of the list. I struggled with it at first because, like Raleigh, I prefer serif fonts. Good-bye, Garamond!
p.s. If you are a font geek, check out a wonderful font called OpenDyslexic. Link: https://opendyslexic.org/
The current type face as previously mentioned is too grey to be reader friendly.
Times Roman is even older than I am but like me it’s still got some mileage left.
