Feline Friday: April’s almost history

Hey, what goes around, comes around. And on Friday, what goes around is, well, a bunch of sassy felines!

I was short on photos this week, so Thursday afternoon involved stalking the cats for a while until the photo deficit was solved.

We’ve had several cloudy days this week, which reduced the available periods of basking in the hot sun. Luckily, I think all three will survive.

Anyway, here come the cats!

Regular visitors already know the cast of characters, all three adopted from a cat colony at the top of Aiea Heights. Ms. Kali, the senior calico, has the beauty marks around her nose and mouth. Kinikini is the big, orange tabby, rumored to be Kali’s offspring. And Bessie is the most recent arrival, who is now well past her 1-year anniversary. All seem to have easily adapted to the pampered indoor lifestyle.

Feline Friday: So long, April!

Tuesday evening kitty tv

It was getting close to 6 pm Tuesday evening, and I was out on the deck checking emails and tossing bits of bread to some of the birds.

The cats were inside, glued to the windows and clear deck doors, mesmerized by the birds in motion.

There are two or three pairs of the red-headed Brazilian Cardinals, which have been stopping by for several years (although the books say they aren’t true cardinals), and I can’t tell them apart. There’s one immature cardinal, but he/she hasn’t found its way to the back deck yet.

A bunch of those zebra doves. And also a few pairs of the red-whiskered bulbuls, with the white chests. They have nice, chattering song.

Anyway, for what it’s worth….
