I noted this comment in a story from a North Carolina television station concerning the death of Christopher Reuther in Nanakuli.
From down at the end of the story:
Less Schnabel Jr. is charged with manslaughter and is being held on $100,000 bail. Christopher’s friends believe prosecutors are going easy. “I’m personally afraid that this murder is being downplayed in the interest of protecting the tourist friendly image they have there in Hawaii. There’s no question is was a brutal unprovoked assault.”
More bad press for the islands.
How does the visitor industry deal with this kind of image issue?

Please do not let Chris’s memory die with him. He was such a good, caring person. Meanwhile, Schnabel’s bail was cut in half and he is OUT — FREE. It WAS totally unprovoked. Schnabel should have been charged with murder, not manslaughter.
