Wednesday…Mr. Kitten now “Oreo” and settling into a new home

OreoAfter a final day at home with Mr. Kitten (and a camera), this lucky guy was welcomed into a wonderful family right on our street in Kaaawa. It’s a perfect solution. We can visit whenever we like, our nine other cats get to come back from self-imposed exile, and Mr. Kitten gets a name–“Oreo”. Great cat, perfect name. But I have to admit that we’re experiencing those feelings of loss known as kitten withdrawal. But click on the photo to see more of Oreo. I’ll try for some photos of Oreo in his new home over the weekend.

Kittens are wonderful, but always very disruptive for the rest of the cats. Back in 2002, when Cybelle and her kittens were here, Silverman disappeared for several months. This time around, all our cats made themselves scarce as long as the kitten was in the house. But within an hour of his departure yesterday evening, all the cats began checking in and this morning they are very much in evidence again.

That’s not to say that kittens aren’t wonderful. It’s just that bringing a kitten into a multi-cat household can be a stressful experience.

I’m so glad Mr. Kitten is now known as “Oreo” and that he has a home. He is way too cute. I only wish I could have given him a home! Good job, Ian!

Good for Oreo! May this strong cookie never crumble.

Oh, and your blog is now showing up just fine on IE6, I saw today. Of course, that was just before we got new computers at work with IE 7.
