The weather was fine downtown yesterday, with just a few periods of rain. But out on the Windward side was apparently a different story. Friends in Kaaawa measured something over 4 inches of rain starting before noon.
By the time we were on the way home, somewhere between 5-6 p.m., it was miserable. And we were in a warm car staying nice and dry. Pity the poor candidates in the final few days of voting in the special city council election for the Kaneohe-Kailua District III seat. We passed John Felix and Ikaika Anderson standing in the rain in upper Nuuanu, then down in front of Windward City Shopping Center there was Keoki Long, acting as if rain was a regular part of his life.
I was able to grab a camera and a picture while at the intersection, just to give the flavor of the afternoon.

Aloha Mr. Lind,
Mahalo for the pic. My wife and I wondered if we’d ever see the photo.
Having been born and raised in Kaneohe, I’ve grown to love rainy days, and its always fun to share it with the ones you love. Oh and the honks and waves help to forget your shoes and socks are soaked….
Thanks again…..
