December Sun and Moon

First, a short video taken at dawn a couple of days ago, just enough to give a quick impression of our experience. Just click to watch the video.

Then, below, the moon as it appeared during our walk back towards home. Click for a larger version of the photo.

Ian, thank you for giving us, a few days ago, the link to the time-lapse videos from cameras on the summit of Mauna Kea:

    http://mkwc.ifa.hawaii.edu/current/cams/

I especially recommend to your readers the movies compressing an entire 24-hour day into a one-minute movie.

To access those movies, click on one of the photos. You will then find a link entitled “View time-lapse movies from this camera”. If you click on that link you will find links for one-minute time-lapse videos for each day of the past week or so. If you click on one of those links, a Quicktime movie will be downloaded to your computer.

I recommend that you try “CFHT-C3
(Aimed NNE)” for December 2, (the night of the full moon).

    Michael
