Another morning of Roadrunner “issues”, and a fat cat update

It’s been an interesting morning.

When I first went online this morning, I couldn’t reach this site via Oceanic’s RoadRunner internet. I was preparing to contact my hosting service, but decided to first try opening iLind.net via my Sprint mobile broadband.

What do you know!

Via Sprint, no problem. Everything was up and running, mail worked, etc.

Via Roadrunner, nothing worked. Everything seemed “down”.

Oops. Ten minutes later, and even Sprint isn’t able to open the site. What does that mean?!

Okay, techies! What’s going on? I don’t understand it.

[7:31 Here’s the report from Hostrocket.com, my hosting services: “Time Warner Cable, our upstream provider is having a network problem that is beyond our control. They are currently working on resolving this, and this should only affect certain ISP\’s at this time.”]

In cat news, the P-Cam has not yielded results. I haven’t been able to get just the right settings that allow a cat to trigger the camera without also allowing light and shadows to also trigger it.

But there’s other cat news.

Mr. Duke, our most overweight cat, had a vet visit on Sunday to assess the results of his diet.

Surprise! He’s lost about 2 pounds since he started the new diet at the beginning of February, a little less than four months ago. He was down from 19-1/2 pounds to just a little under 17-1/2. His vet was very happy. She wants to get him down closer to 15 pounds before lightening up. Luckily, he really likes the Prescription Diet MD, a high-protein mix that apparently acts like an “Atkins Diet” for cats.

Another more substantive update follows.
