We were on the way home from our early walk to the beach yesterday when I spotted Ward Lemn in his garage mending fishing nets. He’s lived out here most of his life, and the family is well known for their fishing skills. I stopped for a few pictures.

The light was terrible. Bright morning sun on his face and torso, shadow below. Getting a reasonable compromise on exposure was a trial-and-error process. I only managed a couple of shots that worked, but they were worth the effort.
