From an email receive yesterday:
My name is Chris Kennedy, I’m a writer working with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
We’re searching for film footage and photographs relating to Elvis Presley’s 1961 Bloch Arena performance, a charity event for the USS Arizona Memorial.
I’m trying to identify the cameraman in the attach photo. This cameraman was at the Honolulu airport on March 25, 1961 and filmed Elvis’s arrival. I’m hoping he may have filmed more.
Would it be possible for you to distribute this photo to your associates, in the hope of identifying him?
Can you think of anyone I should speak to, anyone who may have film stored or could have been at the concert?
I’ve been in touch with Tom Moffatt and some of the TV stations. I’ve heard that KITV has 16mm film stored somewhere. Do you know anything about this?
Any suggestions, folks?

That’s George Cabral Sr, now deceased. His son George Junior (who may still work for Channel 2) has a lot of his dad’s footage.
Another resource to check out to get potential leads would be the Golden Oldies station – I think it’s 107.9 FM – owned by Salem. They have a couple of local shows – one weekdays in the morning; one on Monday nights; and one late Saturday mornings.
There may be others as well. I only listen to the radio in the car unless it’s a sporting event and usually public radio except late at night.
Perhaps the hosts can talk about the project and ask people to call or write Chris directly – or perhaps someone could do a call-in internview.

I agree … George Cabral.
Chris contacted me last week and I’ve been helping him out. Told him to contact Tom Moffatt, George Cabral Jr. (yes still at KHON) and Ted Shibuya. Joe Konno might be another source I just thought of….
