Feline Friday: Annie found the catnip

A couple of weeks ago, a friend gave us a catnip plant to bring home. Naively, I thought we could just hide it in yard and then harvest a few leaves from time to time.

Not possible. I don’t think it took three minutes for one of the cats to discover it and start chewing on it. So I hid it downstairs for several hours before trying to sneak it back out for a little sun. This time it was Ms. Annie who quickly sniffed it out.

So here’s a little Feline Friday video taken just after Annie claimed a leaf of her own. Which, by the way, she later ate.

I had 3 packets of tomato seeds and one of catnip seed on the desk, waiting to be planted. In less than 20 minutes, someone (of the 3 cats) found them & demolished the catnip seed packet, never touching the tomato seeds. Even seeds, though paper, are irresistible!

I put my catnip in hanging baskets. Then you can put it down for the cats to roll in and nibble, and hang it back up and water it – and the plant will recover after a few days. Rinse repeat.
