We were up early this morning as usual, except that today is our 42nd anniversary!
I had to rub my eyes a few times at the sight of that number. Can it really be true? I double checked my math, and my memory. Yes, definitely #42.
So here’s Ian & Meda this morning on our walk along the beach in Kaaawa.

And here we are, just a few years ago, outside Jude Sidney Feinberg’s chambers in the Santa Clara County Municipal Court, on August 15, 1969. A romantic spot, no?

If you’re a glutton for punishment, or a history buff, you can check out my photos of the whole exciting affair.

Happy Anniversary to a couple that continues to enjoy life together!!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MR. AND MRS. LIND!!!
In 1969, I was teaching English in Bangkok, Thailand. And that was the year when the first man walked on the moon! How time flies!
Congratulations! You haven’t changed a bit!
Mazeltov! 42 years — and how many cats?
Congratulations! You have both given our community so much good. Mahalo no.
Hey, you’re messing up the statistics!
Seriously, happy anniversary, and many more.
Congratulations! Onward!
Ditto on all the congratulations and good wishes, from me too!
Congratulations, you both deserved to be recognized for your efforts at domestic bliss!
Happy anniversary!
42 years – very inspiring. Congrats!!!
42! Wow. Congratulations.
A poem for the two of you. Congratulations!
When I reach for you
Sometimes when I give you an unexpected kiss,
A nuzzle on the neck or a pat on whatever interesting place is handy,
You ask, “What was that for?” not so much from doubt
But to hear me say “I love you” one more time.
A habit? Maybe, but a good one for all of that.
For in the fall, or is it the winter of our lives,
Saying “I love you” one more times takes on meanings
It could not have when were so delightfully young, disgustingly slender
And so smart we knew all there was worth knowing.
My “I love you” is deeper now, it has shades, tones, textures, patterns
It could not have known before when I reached you.
It is with a deep sense of the goodness of the years with you, my love.
It’s always a good sign that someone is as willing to step in front of the camera as he is to train it on others. And we are the better for the both of you sharing your views and yourselves with us. Best to you both!
Of course, that was the “camera held at arms length” portrait.
Congratulations!
42!
