Mr. Romeo welcomes you to another Feline Friday

Friday, and time for another look at our Kaaawa felines.

This week, Silverman somehow stayed out of the camera’s view. So there are only seven of the eight represented.

Feline FridayI was having trouble getting any of the cats wake up and pose. That’s when I retrieved the feather toy. It’s a colorful feather on a string, manipulated by waving the short handle it’s attached to. It is a natural cat lure, with that great feather motion.

That’s Mr. Romeo. He was the first to catch the feather in flight. It looks like his left paw made the catch and that big right is coming up for the kill.

Not much other cat news. Well, there’s been the attempt to teach our favorite neighbor and cat sitter to do the insulin shots for Silverman and Duke. If it works, we could cut down on our vet bills while giving him a big boost in his daily rate. David’s willing, and able. The only problem is the cats. We figured he could just stand by while I went through the routine for a couple of days, and they would get accustomed to him being here during mealtimes. But Duke has hidden behind the bed and refused to come out both days that David’s come over. Silverman wasn’t quite as spooked, but didn’t want to get close. I tried to explain to the boys that it was either David or the slammer when we’re traveling, since they need their shots.

Obviously there are bigger problems in the world to worry about, but this one hits us right in the wallet.

So it goes on this First Feline Friday in December.

My suggestion is for David to break out the cat nip and get them ALL as stoned as possible. No cat can resist cat nip – especially when they see the others partaking in that lovely kitty drug too ! Then, with their guard down, he can grab and inject. If that doesn’t work, I would check out other vets for your boarding needs. You could probably board them somewhere else for half of what you pay you know where. And if that’s not an option then just tell you know where that you are being pressured by Cindy Newburg to explore other boarding options and will need a large discount applied to your daily rate so you can stay with them. Ian, there are soooo many vets out there that would love your business – you are the ideal pet owner – it’s not even funny. The grass IS greener on the other side. It took me a long time to make a change in vets but I am so happy I did.
