Happy Valentines Day from Kaaawa.

Our friend Verne, who lives on the other side of Kaaawa, also is a regular on the beach in the early mornings.

This year, he spread Valentines’ cheer with these little bits of folk art.

He starts with seed pods from a “skunk tree.” These dry and open up into these heart shapes. Verne then gives them a little paint job, and they’re ready to spread some good cheer to friends and neighbors.
