It’s time for another round of our favorite Kaaawa morning dogs.
These are the dogs we regularly visit with on our daily walks through the streets of Kaaawa, down to the beach, and back.
Since we’re a cat household at home, this is a nice way to stay in touch with the dog world as well. We also meet a lot of nice people who happen to share their dogs with us in this small way.
I started with a few dog biscuits stuck in my pocket when we left the house, but that has turned into carrying a book bag stuffed with dog treats. There are small MilkBones for the small dogs, big Costco-size dog biscuits for the big dogs, and assorted interim treats for special occasions or tastes.
This is Mr. Piko, who is now one of the senior dogs. He’s pretty deaf, and seems to have yielded his top dog spot to the two younger dogs in his household. But he’s still very much part of the mix when we pass by their house in the morning. In deference to the old order, I still give Piko his treat first, then move on to Bella and Murphy (you’ll see their pictures in a moment).
So click on Piko’s photo, or on the link below, and enjoy this bunch of Kaaawa dogs.

My guess is that Piko is a mix of spaniel and golden retriever.
Piko looks a lot like our dog, also a rescue. We tell people she is part snowshoe mongoose and part wolverine.
Wonderful, thank you Ian!
Whoever tried to poison Ms. Hina, unbelievable, heartbreaking. Thank goodness she is ok.
