Today’s Feline Friday photographs were unfortunate victims of my schedule today, and when I finally got them together and went to post them, I found my site was “down.”
Oh, well. It’s late already, and a few more minutes won’t make much difference. If you’re reading this, it means my hosting service sorted out whatever problems took the site down.
Anyway, that’s Mr. Toby with a small watercolor painting we bought at a local estate auction several years ago. Yes, we liked the resemblance. A couple of days ago I took it down from the wall and set it on the bed, then grabbed a camera when Toby got curious.
The painting is by a New York artist, Bertram Hartman. It has a date in pencil, 6/19/1949. Hartman died in 1960.
We have a couple of other pieces of feline art–a pencil sketch of a cat by John Young, and a print of two cats fighting by Juliet May Fraser, both well-known 20th Century Hawaii artists.
