We’re over on Maui for a couple of days, and last night got to sit back and watch as several other good cooks competed in the kitchen in preparing a meal for eight, fueled by good drink and good company. Fresh fish served on wilted swiss chard, green beans with tomatoes and garlic, and wonderfully done fingerling potatoes.
Since I’m usually the cook at home, this was luxury to sit back and watch it all happen.
Today we’ll hopefully check in on a few Maui thrift stores, catch an afternoon nap, and relax a bit.
I realized my travel laptop, an 11-inch Macbook air, doesn’t have my regular photo software installed. So I put together the photos of the meal without access to my regular workflow. Hopefully they still get the point across.
If you have any last minute tips on what to do during a short stay on Maui, post your suggestions, please!

Ian, If you are anywhere close to Pe’ahi (Jaws) there is supposed to be an interseting wind/ swell direction which will turn the bay into quite a site.
Red bull cancelled this weekend because it will be to rough. Great for some good pictures 🙂
Sunrise atop Haleakala, for sure. Love that place!
The aquarium where you walk through a glass tunnel with the fish swimming all around you.
Welcome to Maui, Ian. My best advice: sleep in!
