Feline Friday: Annie’s Tale

Ms. AnnieWe had a little cat adventure yesterday. Meda was packing for a trip back to D.C., where she has back to back meetings at the beginning of next week, and we were trying to get the house and cats in order before she left.

The night before, when we locked the cats down for the night, we noticed Ms. Annie was missing. Nothing to worry about, since she was probably just out hunting and would be back soon. But we didn’t see her the rest of the evening, and when we got up in the morning–no Annie.

No Annie when the cats gathered for breakfast. Still trying not to see problems, we assumed she would be waiting when we got back from our early walk. But when we came down the driveway and looked around, no Annie. So I went off to tromp through the brush and jungle that borders the house. No luck. No luck down along the side of our property. Now we were worried.

Could she be in the house? We checked all the usual hiding places. No luck. Then I looked down the hall. The door to one bedroom was closed. Yes, the suitcase was in there, protected from any unhappy cats that might want to “mark” it. But I looked in there last night, and Meda had looked again this morning. No Annie. But, out of an abundance of caution, I opened the door and started looking in all the hidden corners. Within a few seconds, Annie was there helping me look. I have no idea where she came from, although I have to assume she had found a nice, warm, invisible spot. Of course, she was now ready for breakfast. And we were totally relieved.

So Ms. Annie is pleased to welcome you to another Feline Friday in Kaaawa.
