Yesterday morning, we saw the “green flash” at dawn for the first time in many months. The horizon was perfectly clear, which greatly increases the odds of seeing that moment of green as the sun makes its appearance.
Today was different. Something about those clouds. They managed to absorb the light from the rising sun, and shared it back with us as a living glow, as if somewhere within the cloud a fire was spreading. The light was definitely unusual.
Here’s one attempt to capture it. Enjoy.
