We saw our second “green flash” of the week this morning as the sun slipped into view.
But, no, I didn’t get a picture of it.
The closest that I got was this photo snapped an instant before the sun crossed the horizon. Note on the lower right the outline of Molokai, with Maui to the right and behind.
Did I mention that you can click on the photo for a larger version?
The horizon was almost totally clear this morning as the sun casually made its appearance. It’s the kind of morning when it’s easiest to catch a glimpse of the elusive flash of green.
It’s not really a “flash” like a burst of green light. It’s more like the sun coming up by pushing through a liquid green veil of sorts. In any case, it was visible longer today than some other mornings, probably staying in view for slightly more than a full second.
