It appears that there’s just one peacock remaining on our end of Kaaawa, and he regularly stops by our yard. He was sleeping in our big banyan tree, but I’m not sure that’s still his regular roost.
Several years ago, there were at least six of these beautiful birds, including several hens, but we haven’t seen any females or offspring for years.
Meanwhile, we saw another clump of young birds on the other side of Kaaawa this morning. Perhaps some of ours migrated to the other side of the hood.
Should I say that I now understand the reference to “peacock blue.”

I wonder if the “Rule of the Inverse”applies to pea fowl? Turkeys are really ugly but taste really good. Pea fowl, at least the cocks, are really pretty. Do you suppose they taste terrible?
Beautiful feathers – not so nice disposition, so I’ve heard.
I love this photo! And I love these birds…
