For this Throwback Thursday, a special find I came across this past week. I don’t know how old I was…maybe it’s from about 1950-51?

Yes, that is yours truly sitting in what appears to be a yellow rocking chair (or perhaps plain wood that just looks more yellow in the now-quite-ancient photo). The chair is alongside the old driveway of our family’s home in Kahala. I remember that coconut tree, one of many in our yard back then. It was gone by 1956, and the rest followed over the next several years. It looks like the hedge in front of the house was taller back then. It’s been cut pretty low in recent decades.

I have no recollection of the occasion that prompted this photo. A new haircut, perhaps? It’s looking pretty slicked down and dapper.
