It’s June 6, the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.
In our household, we also remember June 6 as the day in 1987 when Ms. Kua joined the household as a kitten. I dredged up this little video minute with Kua, taken when she was a sleek, talkative, young thing. She died on Bastille Day in 1998. Far too early.
If you’re interest, you can find a brief version of her life story here.
Meanwhile, it’s Feline Friday in Kaaawa. This is Ms. Annie, enjoying a bit of time outside this morning. I don’t know if she noticed the blooming Bird of Paradise, but she struck the pose as if she did.
Romeo is still on guard, keeping watch just in case Lumber, the wandering orange cat from down the hill, shows up unannounced. Harriet is still licking the fur off of her back side. Wally is still trying to work up an appetite. Duke and Kili still get their insulin shots twice a day. Toby still shows up each morning to wait for his spoonful of cottage cheese.
And so it goes in the Lind household.
