Here we are, another fine Feline Friday.

Here’s a photo of Mr. Duke taken earlier this morning. Let me explain. When we got back from our walk, I decided to let the cats out for a few minutes. Romeo and Duke were right out the door, Kili and Harry followed. Ms. Annie had been out since we went out walking. Romeo, of course, was down the stairs and onto his boundary patrol in seconds. Duke acted like he was charging out as well, but slowed at the top of the stairs, then descended and took up a position under the stairs. He was close to the action, if there had been any, but in a spot where he felt safe.

You can see him here, peering out from the back of the stairs.

Luckily, Lumber, the wandering orange cat whose visits make set Romeo off, was nowhere to be seen today. So Romeo got his time in the yard, Duke wasn’t drawn into any unwanted fights, and the rest of the cats all had a few minutes outside.

So it goes on this First Feline Friday of October.
