It’s Feline Friday again. I’ve been digging around in old photo files, and came up with a few old-timey pictures of our cats, current and former. This is Romeo and I out on the back deck. I think this was back several years, maybe as early as 2005. More on the photos in a bit.
First, an update on Mr. Romeo. He has not been a good boy. This week, he’s decided that he REALLY wants to get out and get at Lumber, the wandering cat that has been declared Enemy #1. We’ve also had a couple of sightings of a rather young gray cat around the front of the yard and the house next door.
So what has Romeo done after being firmly told that he can’t go outside and pick a fight?
He led a break-out.
A couple of days ago, he apparently dug out a louver from a window in our bedroom, pulled out a corner of the screen, and made an escape to a roof over a walkway below, and from there simply jumped down into the yard. Ms. Annie was right behind. The two of them must have spent the day outside before people returned and they were discovered to have busted out.
Louver was restored. A couple of 20-lb boxes of cat litter place in front to block access to the said window. It seemed like problem temporarily solved until we get window fixed.
Not necessarily fixed, it seems. The next day, when no one was home, Romeo almost pushed and pulled those heavy boxes far enough out of the way to again lead the passenger initiated evacuation.
So we’re now trying to negotiate a more permanent fix which does not include free access to the fight zone.
In any case, today’s photos were from the archive. Some were taken with an old Palm Treo, one of the original smart phones. I stumbled over backup files from a series of Treo models while exploring what was saved onto old USB thumb drives from who-knows-when. What a fun discovery.
–> In any case, see more of today’s Friday Felines!

Careful, Mr. Romeo. Big Brother Google is watching.
