It’s been a while since I shared photos of the dogs we meet on our early morning walks to the beach in Kaaawa, starting with one of our favorite sights. When this pack goes walking, they fill up the back roads and, as you can imagine, are quite a handful! But a very well-behaved handful, I must say. That’s Bruce, the big great dane on the left, along with Coral, Lani, and Zen. The newest rescue to join the pack is a tiny brown dog hidden behind Bruce. Yes, there are five, all with stories. And their people are heroes for taking such good care of them all!

And while they like to see us, they are among the few dogs that don’t get treats from my traveling goody bag. It started when Bruce was having health issues and adopted a vegetarian diet. I suppose we could have brought some baby carrots along just for him, but instead we doled out pets instead of dog biscuits. That seems to have been alright with Bruce and the others!
