Feline Friday is back! Last week’s glimpse into the lives of our Kaaawa Cats was bumped by preparations for our return flight from Auckland to Honolulu. There’s always some anxiety when we return from a trip, no matter how good our cat sitter is. We know there are signs or symptoms she might miss, and with a bunch of geriatric cats, you worry. We worry. And this trip was no exception.

But the good news is that all the cats were fine. Since they don’t have in-and-out privileges any more, there’s are a lot of things we don’t have to worry about any more. We know the cats will be in the house. And we know they won’t have gotten into any fights, except squabbles among themselves (which are never serious).

In any case, we were relieved to find that all was well. And the cats seemed happy to have us back, although they never provide the obvious over-the-top response that a dog would have. At night, though, there was a scramble as cats jockeyed for position on the bed with us. There was a higher count than normal. That translates into “happy the people are home.”
