Sunday morning.
It’s clear and sunny, at least for now. A light breeze is adding a bit of motion to the leaves on the mango trees just outside in the back yard.
We returned from our early morning walk to find that our almost new Mr. Coffee has choked and died. No coffee this morning. Then I pulled out the carton of eggs from the refrigerator and found there were only three left. The omelet idea was also out, and we settled for soft boiled eggs and english muffins. Not bad, but not what we had been planning on.
But the sunrise on the beach? It’s not Kaaawa, but we’re enjoying it nonetheless.
It’s still dark when we leave the house just before 6 a.m., but when we get to the far end of the block and cross over to the beach park, the sun is already signaling its imminent arrival.

There are usually at least one or two other people along that stretch of beach, also waiting for the sun to make its appearance.

And then there it is, right on schedule.

Our current routine is to walk out along Kahala Avenue until we pass the drainage canal near Pueo Street, then take the next access lane back down to the beach. From that point, we can walk on the beach for a while until we run out of sand, at least if it’s not high tide.

And although it seems somehow “disloyal”, we are meeting some of the morning dogs on this end of the island, like this pair who were engaged in a running mock fight up and down the beach, under the watchful eyes of their people.

And so it goes on this Sunday.
Stop by here tomorrow for a look at the lawsuit filed against Republican Senator Sam Slom by reporter Malia Zimmerman, co-founder of Hawaii Reporter and now a Fox News reporter on the west coast.

Weren’t Sam Slom and Malia Zimmerman a couple?
If so, apparently no longer.
Very nice photos!
I thought Senator Slom married Malia Zimmerman? They dated prior 1999 when I worked at capital with the minority caucus. Senator Slom’s divorce attorney was former Congresswomen Collen Hanabusa. During 2000 re-apportionment a tiff developed over his residence location, was it in Kalama Valley or Hawaii Kai apartment.
Thanks for sharing your new routine!
Love
Love is strange
Lot of people
Take it for a game
Once you get it
You never want to quit
After you’ve had it
You’re in an awful fix
Many people
Don’t understand
They think loving
Is money in the hand
Your sweet loving
Is better than a kiss
When you leave me
Sweet kisses I miss…………

Will you be replacing your blog banner pic? If so, I like the one with the two people walking on the beach.
