Throwback Thursday: Seattle, December 1968

I can date this to about this same time of year. Taken in Seattle.

That’s me, on the left, and Meda over on the right. We were at the home of a friend, Kadi Sprengle, who was also attending Whitman College, across the state in Walla Walla. She’s sitting next to Meda. As I recall, her mom was stuffing our whole visiting crowd with good food. Next to Kadi, Todd Boley, who later became an attorney, a litigator, and still has his own firm in Oakland. Both Kadi and Todd were among a group of old friends who attended a Whitman reunion this past September.

Sitting next to me, Pat McChesney, another Whitman friend.

I can date this because it was in a set of negatives that included photos taken a few days later, when Meda and I were driving to Portland in Meda’s car and were caught in a blizzard just as we reached the outskirts of Portland. The car broke down, we were able to walk to a nearby commercial area and took refuge in a medical office that happened to be open. Luckily, we were able to arrange to be picked up by a neighbor of Meda’s mom who happened to drive a big pickup truck. We ended up being snowed in for days.
