Feline Friday: A quick update on our Kahala cats

Romeo & DukeIt’s Friday, and in our household that means Feline Friday!

Here’s a brief cat update.

Romeo has been his feisty self. Still playing with that feathered cat toy that he bats around the living room at times of his own choosing.

Duke is still struggling with a chronic upper respiratory issue that we haven’t been able to totally clear up. It’s obviously complicated by his diabetes. We’re just continuing to monitor, and he visits the vet if his condition veers off course.

Annie has also been a little “down.” I’m not sure what’s causing this. So I’ve been offering her meals on her cat tree in our spare bedroom. She enjoys a little snack up there, then wants to shift out into the kitchen where the other cats eat.

Toby hates to have his claws trimmed. I’ve had to take him to the vet to get them trimmed, since he’s somewhat intimidated by that setting. But he had a couple of claws that have been causing issues, so I tried trimming them myself today. I managed to get most of the front paws done before he freaked out. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow on the last couple.

And Ms. Kili? She’s getting a little slower as she gets older, but seems pretty stable. Hopefully no vet visits in her immediate future.

Anyway, you can click on the photo of Romeo & Duke, or click the link below, to see all of this week’s feline photos.

As always, thanks for the photos of your wonderful cats. I’m not crazy about the ads that keep interrupting the viewing, but I know it helps pay your bills.

Hmmm. I don’t know about the ads. When I view the photos, I don’t see ads. Anybody familiar with Flickr and its advertising system? I started using it because the online storage is free. But if that comes with annoying ads, I can go back to sharing through my own hosting. Advice would be appreciated.

Never have any ads. Only have one cat, age unknown as he just showed up and adopted us, but that was 10 year ago. He has recently decided people food and milk are essential for his wellbeing. Know milk is not supposed to be good but in googling, a vet said a little milk is not going to hurt. Getting tired of the begging for something other than his good food I get from the vet. Auwe.

I chop up small pieces of chicken or steak for our cats to eat now and then. Gives them something to eat besides the “proper” cat food. As for the food the vets provide, sometimes I wonder about it. I don’t think it always tastes good, even if it’s supposed to be nutritious and/or or weight loss or whatever.
