Throwback Thursday: A 1998 rescue

Yesterday, January 24, was the 20th anniversary of our rescue and immediate adoption of two kittens that had been dropped out of a moving car along Kahekili Highway in Kaneohe.

The kittens, both females, were quickly named Kili and Wally.

The Rescue: Kili and Wally

They lived long and happy lives, and remained a large part of our feline household for most of two decades.

Wally died at our house in Kaaawa early on the morning of July 9, 2015 at 17 years of age.

Ms. Kili lived to make the move to Kahala. She died on May 4, 2016. She was 18.

They were both wonderful cats.

That rescue was a signal event. It’s wonderful that Ms. Kili and Wally, so close to disaster, had such long lives and were able to contribute so much.
