Happy Birthday, Neil!

Former Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie and his wife, Nancie Caraway, invited a bunch of friends to help them celebrate Neil’s 80th birthday. Or, as he put it, the beginning of his 9th decade.

Meda and I have known Neil since our graduate student days at UH. After his election to the Honolulu City Council in 1988, I served on his staff as “senior advisor” until his successful run for Congress two years later.
