This has been another week of cat naps and sun baths. Oh, and more…Romeo has gotten to accompany me out onto the back deck in the late afternoon. I enjoy a glass of wine while Romeo most enjoys sitting out in the open and watching the world. He’s safely strapped into a harness and I hold on to the leash, but he’s pretty free to roam the deck. It turns out that he really isn’t all that interested in going out into the yard. Mostly he just wants to sit, feel the remaining warmth of the sun on the deck, and then watch and smell the world. After a while, he’s ready to walk back inside if I open the door. Very low impact on both of us.
Duke’s finished one round of an antibiotic mixed with fish. “Triple fish,” to be specific. It’s aimed at getting his chronic nasal/sinus infection under control. Every once in a while it flares up. When it does, this antibiotic is the only one we’ve found that seems to knock it back, at least temporarily. I can’t say he likes it, but he doesn’t seem to mind it. Romeo, on the other hand, can smell the fish and wants some of his own. Just as a test, I put a little spot of it in a dish. Romeo lapped it right up. Duke, though, wasn’t at all interested in following suit.
And so it goes in our feline-centric household. Click on Duke’s photo for more.
