Throwback Thursday: Waikiki c.1920

I came across this one while browsing through our vintage photos.

It shows Alice Ludgate posing against the backdrop of Diamond Head and parts of Waikiki Beach during a visit to Hawaii in the early 1920s.

Alice Ludgate was my wife’s great-aunt. Alice was also the neice of Kate Lewis Renton, the wife of George F. Renton Sr., who managed Kohala Sugar from 1894-1898, and then became manager at Ewa Plantation, a position he held from 1898 until his retirement in 1921.
