Throwback Thursday: Punaluu 1952

This is a colorized version of an old B&W photo taken during a family outing in Punaluu. That’s me with my sister Bonnie, in the middle of the group. I think this was the visit that included a Portuguese man o’ war wrapping itself around my arm and shoulder. That really put quite a memorable damper on the day!

Next Wednesday, April 10, would have been Bonnie’s 76th birthday. But she’s already gone, along with any information she would have had about the two girls on the ends. I don’t know if they were friends of hers, or people who lived in Punaluu at the time. Perhaps friends from school (although I don’t know whether at that time she was attending Punahou or had already transferred to the University lab school).
