Well, here we go again, your weekly peek behind the scenes of our cat-centric household.
Not the best week for the cats. I’ve been trying to get Duke to eat more of the food that’s supposed to help control his diabetes. This after his recent blood test gave us new hope that we’ve been making progress. Unfortunately, I followed him through the day on Wednesday, drawing a little blood and doing a glucose test every two hours throughout the day. This wasn’t one of those days where his glucose levels were low. When I sent the results to our vet, she acknowledged that it was “higher than I hoped for.” Yes, it was. So now I’m trying to get better control of his diet. Not an easy task, it seems.
Annie has a continuing problem with itchy areas under her chin. When I apply her prescription ointment, they quickly clear up. But if I stop, they have come back, at least so far. As to her kidney “issues,” we’ll have to wait until a retest in a month or so.
Romeo, well, he’s limping a bit as his right hip bothers him more as he gets older, and he’s still got a problem with hair balls. Neither of those are life threatening, though.
Anyhow, click on Annie’s photo to see all of this week’s cats.
