The beaches have reopened (partially, at least)

We were up early Sunday morning to take advantage of Hawaii Governor David Ige’s decision to allow the resumption of walking or running for exercise on all beaches in the state. That was a decision we have been anxiously awaiting.

In recent weeks, one would have to risk being an “outlaw” in order to watch the sun rise from a vantage point on a beach, even if the beach were virtually empty.

So here are a few photos of dawn, and some of our favorite Kahala morning dogs. Just click below for more.

It appears that these dogs are running wild on the beach. There is a leash law that requires all dogs to be on a leash unless they are in a dog park. Is there something I do not know about? Unleashed dogs terrify me.
