This photo is scanned from an old slide of my mother took back around 1954.

It’s taken on Kapiolani Boulevard near the corner of Ward Avenue, looking toward Diamond Head.

On the right, you can see a large sign for “Acme Auto,” which apparently included the large car lot. I found an advertisement for Acme Auto from that period. It was located at 903 Kapiolani, and must have stretched along that block.

I started looking for old newspaper clippings that might show when Kapiolani was widened, as that might help narrow down when the photo was taken.
