Bob is back for another holiday season

You might not know Bob’s name. But you probably recognize his picture.

Bob, in this case, is a large Norfolk pine tree on Pueo Street in Kahala, between Farmers Road and Kahala Avenue.

The lights went up last week, and were powered up for the weekend, making Bob visible from a good part of the island.

I first wrote about Bob three years ago. Here’s the beginning of that story.

There’s a very high Norfolk pine in my neighborhood that has lights up the length (granted, not as completely encompassing as Bob’s) and the fellows that did it used a drone.

    Sweet.

I used to take my dear friend by each year to see that tree. Even when Marj’s 95-year-old eyes had largely failed her, she could still make out that lovely, lovely tree’s graceful, cheerful holiday outlines.

Now when I see it without my departed friend, my own vision clouds, with tears of gratitude that I have those precious memories during this season. Thank you for this welcome reminder.
