Throwback Thursday: Fathers and sons, February 1956

I know I’ve posted the black & white version of this photo at some point in the distant past. It’s a father-son dinner event of newly formed Cub Scout Pack 16 at Kahala School in February 1956.

This was just four months after Pack 16 held its first meeting at the school in October 1955. I was a member of Den 1. During that first year, my mother served as den mother.

I don’t know where the dinner was held. Perhaps someone else will recognize the room.

The photo has been enhanced and colorized using one of the features of the genealogical website, myheritage.com. It’s produces and amazing result, but it’s not perfect. Note the one father’s face, midway back on the left side, who remains in black and white. My dad is the 2nd towards the back from Mr. B&W, and I’m visible just next to him.

Just click on the photo to view a larger version.

I see a few close friends whose names I immediately recall, and several others I should know but whose names remain just past the tip of my tongue.

Just post a comment if you recognize anyone.

Mr B&W is kinda creepy. Like one of those photos in which the supposed spirit of a deceased person “shows up”.
