Saturday Dawn & Dogs

Not much going on today. We’re back from our walk at dawn, I’ve posted some photos, we’re almost done with our fruit and coffee. We have a Zoom call in a few minutes to catch up with a friend who used to live here and teach at the University of Hawaii, but is now living in Connecticut. In a while, we’re driving to Kaneohe where our new license plates are waiting for us. Then, well, back home I suppose. I’ll work on a story I’m trying to finish. Then have to finish off our tax returns. Tonight, leftover soup from last night, made with leftover Costco chicken. Leftover leftovers?

In any case, here’s my impression of Saturday morning in Kahala.

Sounds like a lovely Saturday, described in subdued tones. Slow-paced narrative, almost meditative. Then … Bam!! the magnificent sunset image is revealed, startling as a full orchestral climax. Wow, Ian.

Sunrise, Marnie. It’s always sunrise in my photos. We rarely have a view of sunset, and it has tilted our normal day toward the early morning.

Beautiful photos of sunrise and all the doggie friends. Thanks for that. It made me smile – good way to start the morning.

Ian, That 1st pix is like a diamond sun, with that bird flying and soaring sky stellar! Mochi is bright eyed and bushy tail so perky. Pepper my personal favorite cute as ever. I noticed two new dogs the spaniel and sort of spaniel black and white, what are their names? You and Meda are so lucky to live in walking distance to Kahala beach. Back in 1990 I lived there and took Saturday morning walks there, your photos bring back pleasant memories, Thank you for sharing.

The pair in the last photo live across the street from us, and we see them when they’re taken out for a morning run. The brown one is Coco, and the black & white is Luna, who is kind of shy. But Luna has learned about the dog treats that Meda carries, and yesterday she marched right up to claim her share of the bounty.
