Feline Friday: Kinikini at five weeks

What a week it has been!

For his first three weeks, Kinikini pretty much slept all day under the futon in his “safe” room. For the first week and perhaps a bit more, the door was closed to let him get used to being in the house. Then in week three, the door was opened, but he still primarily came out at night. During week #4, he made a few passes through the house during the day, enough that we noticed he was coming out of the room. But on Sunday, at the beginning of week #5, some switch went off in his brain and he began to fill the house. I’m not sure how that’s done, except that he was suddenly comfortable coming out, exploring, and playing with Kali at all times of day and night.

What a change! And it kept my cameras busy over the week.

So today’s Feline Friday has a lot more photos than usual. The cat people among you will be pleased! The rest, well, bewildered? You know, I suppose to some people all cats and all poses look about the same. That’s okay, really.

And I have o say that my newest camera, the Panasonic LX100ii, has handled this demanding week well beyond my expectations. It focuses fast enough to catch cats at play, at times with a little motion blur because there just isn’t a lot of light during those early morning games. And it’s fast lens is well suited to those low light moments.

In any case, here comes the week in feline photos, arranged chronologically. Does Kinikini look more relaxed towards the end of the week? I think so.

Kinikini is SUCH a handsome lad!! Do he and Kali mostly give Romeo space and deference befitting his status as the “grand old man” of the house or do they mess with him equally?

Panasonics are great cameras. Really like the point and shoot Lumix line.

Not quite clear what Mr. Romeo thinks of these youngsters, but like another commentator I hope they are all happy and comfortable and continue to evolve in their roles. What a great family!
