On vacation for a week

We arrived on Maui Thursday afternoon, picked up a rental car, then eventually found the condo we are sharing for the week with an old college friend and his wife who arrived from California. There were some minor adventures on the way. Google got lost and couldn’t find the address we were looking for. And as we were stressing out from wandering lost in the Wailea wilderness, an alarm on our dashboard went off, an alert displayed a message, “Maintenance needed, consult owners manual.” Of course, there is no owners manual in the rental car. Then the alarm started dinging, ding, ding, ding, ding. Was that a countdown to the engine blowing up? We weren’t sure. Luckily, we finally located our destination, parked the car, and trudged into the 2-bedroom condo with view. Verrry niiice!

This morning, we were up early to watch the sunrise from the beach.

I don’t expect to post regularly here until we’re back home on Thursday, although I might add a minor update or a few photos.

Like this morning. On the beach. A great way to start the day.

SO happy for you both. Having lived in that area for many years at one time, I hope you enjoy the serenity and historical presence of the area. No place quite like Makena
