A Kaneohe meth dealer associated with a drug trafficking network tied to former Honolulu business owner Michael J. Miske, Jr., was sentenced earlier this week in Honolulu’s federal district court.
Timothy Guillermo Taboada, 30, appeared before Judge Susan Oki Mollway by video teleconference on Monday, June 14, and was sentenced to 10-years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The 10-year term is the mandatory minimum sentence for those convicted of the drug conspiracy offense. He will also serve an additional 5-years of supervised release after completing the prison term.
Miske, the former owner of Kamaaina Termite and Pest Control, Kamaaina Plumbing, and other businesses, was named in a 22-count indictment in June 2020, along with 10 co-defendants. Two of those co-defendants have already accepted plea deals and “flipped” on their former associates. Six others not named in the Miske indictment but associated with his organization have also cut deals and agreed to testify for the prosecution.
Taboada was arrested in August 2018 after he was observed selling meth to a confidential law enforcement source. Then, while under court-authorized electronic surveillance during the period March through June 2018, Taboada continued to distribute meth to “numerous others” on Oahu, according to his plea agreement with prosecutors. Taboada admitted to selling methamphetamine daily from his home on Ko Place in Kaneohe during the period from January 2016 to August 2018. He told prosecutors that he was aware some of the drugs provided to him had been obtained in robberies of other drug dealers.
During most of the 2016-2018 period, Taboada was on probation after pleading guilty to charges of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and promotion of dangerous drugs, both Class C felonies.
Two of Taboada’s main sources of drugs, Jacob “Jake” Smith and Hunter Wilson, have already pleaded guilty to being part of the “Miske Enterprise,” which prosecutors describe as a racketeering organization. Both also admitted to conspiring with others to distribute illegal drugs, including meth and cocaine. Smith and Wilson are both awaiting sentencing. The third source named by Taboada, Lance Bermudez, is one of Miske’s co-defendants and awaiting trial.

All in the family…..not exactly Archie Bunker material…..
With Miske/Ozawa connections, one can extrapolate how close drugs and racketeering comes to political influence over the public good.
“Pleaded” oor “pled” just want to knolw which is cprrect.
