Can it really be nine months? Yes. Meanwhile, Kinikini has been part of the household for a little less than three months.
Yesterday I did a thing with myself, cats, and a scale. Kali weighed in at 10.5 pounds, Kinikini at 12.2 pounds. Kali is, well, you might say “solid.” You might say “pudged out,” as one of our friends used to say. I’m trying to manage her food and drop her weight a bit. Kinikini is nowhere near Romeo’s fighting weight in his prime, when he tipped the scales at about 18 pounds.
You’ll notice that a couple of photos show Romeo with a dish of food. Yes, several times a day I bring food to him wherever he happens to be, and encourage him to eat a bit more. Usually he does. He’s skinny, but he has an appetite most of the time, and so he gets lots of special attention.
Anyway, on to the week in photos!

Got a solid chuckle out of seeing Kali hiding in the food cabinet, looking slightly guilty!
Heartwarming to see Kinkini rubbing up to Romeo.
Yes, both Kali and Kinikini are now greeting Romeo several times during the day. Bringing comfort to the ailing cat?
Company is probably great medicine for Romeo.
Yes!
We had a 18 pound indoor cat, our neighbor used to say she wasn’t overweight, she was just “prosperous”.
