Another week. Another month. And another Feline Friday. Life goes on.
Poor Romeo. Tuesday night, after I fed the cats, we were making dinner. When I pulled something out of the small pantry with pull-out shelves, Romeo wandered right in on the bottom shelf. I warned him about getting forgotten in there. And then I forgot.
Wednesday morning, Kali and Kinikini were in the kitchen bright and early, ready and eager for breakfast. But no Romeo. I thought morbidly that perhaps he had just crawled into a corner and died overnight, so I looked through his regular spots in the house. Under a living room chair. Behind shirts hanging in our closet. On or under the futon in the front room. I was now steeled for the worst. Then I walked back into the kitchen and the my warning of the night before came to mind. So I opened the pantry door and there he was, looking up. Thirsty, but otherwise alive. Not well, certainly, but alive. Whew.
In this week’s photos, you’ll see quite a few of Kali and Kinikini greeting Romeo, either bumping foreheads or giving him a lick or two. They must instinctively understand what’s going on and are responding so very well.
Anyway, enjoy the week.

So relieved to read that Romeo is still with us – my heart sank as I read that he might have moved on. The photos are precious. Mahalo for sharing Ian.
I relate. We have a pull down stair in our attic and when ever I go up one or two of our cats clamber up. They hide and I forget and later we hear their mews. Happy to hear Romeo is carrying on and your images delightful
That rascal Romeo still getting into mischief in his golden years. Thankful for his human and fur relatives taking care and looking out for him. Ha! he still keeps the Lind household jumping!
Absolutely heart warming to see the respect Kinikini and Kali show for Romeo. He’s a lucky guy to be spending his final days within such a loving group (you and Meda included)!
I love Romeo- have from the first day he entered your lives. His eyes show some of his history- a hard life until he found you and Meda, I hope his final days are peaceful- btw- my friend brought in an aged feral 3 years ago, thinking that she would give him some final love…Panther is still thriving, enjoying fresh ahi and other treats…I hope Romeo outlasts his prognosis!
