Feline Friday, Special Calico Rescue Edition

The short version of this post is that there’s another very sweet little calico ripe for adoption. This one hasn’t been in the wild long enough to get the notched ear treatment. Anyone who night consider adopting this beauty, please let me know.

Here’s the story.

I got a message late Thursday afternoon from one of the caretakers of the Aiea cat colony who facilitated our rescues of Kali and Kinikini.

The message included several photos, with a message about “ANOTHER sweet as heck stray Calico.”

“As sweet and cuddly as Kali,” the message said.

I asked for more information, and this came right back.

She only recently showed and started to slowly work her way into “the gang”. We suspect she was dumped in the vicinity as the home where she hangs out is a well known cat refuge here right next to the park entrance.

A couple friends suspect she might be pregnant but it’s too early to say for sure.

Yesterday I called for her and she happily came over for pets and scratches. She soon made herself at home by jumping onto a table for treats and then onto my lap.

If she is pregnant, she will move into one of the caretakers’ homes to have the kittens, and then will be readied for adoption.

I can say that their assessments of Kali and Kinikini were spot on. It took awhile for each of them to acclimate to indoor living, but the whole experience has been totally rewarding to us. We feel lucky to have been given the opportunity.

She sure is a cutie, and I have a soft spot for calicos. Unfortunately my apt has a no pet policy. I hope she get a forever home soon. She looks like Kali’s sister.

How I wish I still lived just down the street on Makaiwa…. I’d love to bring this little beauty home. I hope she finds a loving place to fall.
