This was the week Bessie had her first visit to our vet, Dr. Ann Sakamoto at the Hawaii Kai Veterinary Clinic.

As I introduced her to Bessie and offered a little background, Ann laughed a little. “So you’ve got a full house again!”

Yes, I guess so.

I came home with some Science Diet Dental Care food to try out. We do give the cats Greenies, which are supposed to be good for their teeth, but I guess this food is a step up. We’ll see. We have never been very good at getting our cats to eat what’s good for them. And the other problem is that none of our cats still has all their teeth. But it can’t hurt to try.

On Thursday, Ann call with the results of Bessie’s blood test. “They all look really good! And she is feline leukemia negative.”

Relief all around! Although Bessie seems to be in the best of health, it’s always good to rule out lurking background issues, and that’s what we’ve done here. Whew!

Ann added: “She’s a keeper!”

You betcha! She sure is.

Meanwhile, as you can see, they’re getting along well. And it’s still only been five weeks since Bessie moved in.

Okay, on to the cats.
