I got up early to check whether I had enough cat photos to select the ones to be in today’s Feline Friday collection.

It wasn’t good news. I had one cat photo, the best in a series featuring Bessie and Kinikini sleeping near each other on our bed last weekend. After that, zip.

I guess that I was wrapped up in working on a couple of stories, including the one that was published by Civil Beat yesterday.

What to do?

It was a bit after 5:30 am, time to feed the cats. They generally like this time of day. They are usually all in or around the kitchen. And today, luckily, was no exception. So I grabbed one of my cameras that does well in low light and started following cats. Around the room, into the kitchen. And they managed to cooperate just enough for me to get a reasonable batch of photos.

And here they are. The Lind cats. At your service.

Romeo, the senior feline, at least 20 years old. Kali, the calico that was next to arrive. She’s the one with the “beauty marks” around her nose. Then Kinikini, now the dominant male, despite appearing unsure of himself in many photos. And, finally, Ms. Bessie, the confident calico and dominant female. When push comes to shove, Kinikini gets his way. But Bessie doesn’t make it easy for him!

Anyway, here come the cats.
