I got up early this morning to check whether I had enough photos for FF. If not, I had to plan on chasing cats around the house with a camera and gettting enough images for a reasonable presentation.
Luckily, between three cameras (the ones I used this week), as well as an iPad and iPhone, it turned out that I had more than enough to work with.
Kinikini has been recovering from his dental surgery last week, at least if appetite and food consumed is an indication. The bad thing is that he prefers dry cat food, and our instructions were to avoid dry food for two weeks.
That has about as much chance of happening as one of our cats wearing a cone for two weeks. It’s just not gonna happen.
For two days, I tried wetting dry food until it got somewhat soft. Using hot water helped. But it was not popular. Really not popular. By Day 3, I had bought a slightly different type of dry cat food that had smaller pieces which looked, to me at least, that they would be easier to eat for a cat with many fewer teeth than 10 days ago. That worked, but soon I had to just abandon hope of controlling the situation and letting him have his regular food.
I’m bolstered by the fact that Duke, the Tabby Point Siamese we raised from a kitten, lost his teeth to feline diabetes somewhere along the way and spent the last nearly ten years of his life with no teeth, all the while enjoying dry cat food. So I know a good set of teeth isn’t a prerequisite for a dry kibble’s preference.
The calicats continue to put on a show every day. And Romeo, well, continues.

Miss Bessie sure has taken the title of “Belle of the Ball” in the Lind household!
Continued best wishes to Romeo. It sure seems he wants to go out on his terms. Wish you all the best.
