It’s raining this morning, so we decided to skip the walk and go directly to coffee.

And that means I have time to deliver your cat quota for the week.

I’ve noted one changing dynamic. Kinikini used to pick on Kali, every once in a while running at her, giving her a swat or two, and sending her retreating under a chair in the living room. Recently, though, she has started defending herself and even going on the offensive, backing Kini off by just taking a couple of steps in his direction with one of those “I mean business” looks reflected in her expression and body language. And Kini tries to shrink himself and move out of the way.

But then he has just redirect those little displays of dominance to poor Ms. Bessie, who has quickly learned the best chairs to hide under to achieve a good defensive position. So far, no cats have been injured in all this, except perhaps sustaining a bit of damage on the self-esteem scale.

In any case, here come the cats.
